Syllabus

The syllabus is a critical element for any course.  It contains a lot of essential information for students about how class will run.  What activities will occur in class, how attendance will be measured, and how grades are broken down are all common items to find in a syllabus.  Online courses can be tough for some students to orient themselves to, so having a strong syllabus with all the essential material easily available is important.  The syllabus below was created to align with the standard syllabus used at State Fair Community College, where I teach Introductory Biology.  It provides a basic outline of what will be covered in my course, student expectations, information on grading, and how to contact me.  While it contains a lot of information, it is all important information for the students to know as they dive into an online class.
